Rhythm begins in the body, awakening and moving through the impulses of others. Individual perception meets collective energy—gathering, separating and expanding into space, music and story.
What we explore
Can my body
become music?
This is not a class that measures acting, singing or instrumental technique. We begin with footsteps and breath, then extend awareness through clapping, voice and instrument. Participants exchange and transform rhythms, discovering an ensemble energy that can move without a designated leader.
The session culminates in a three-to-six-minute scene devised in the room from minimal conditions and the provocation “People arriving in an unfamiliar place.” Music, text and movement are developed as one event.
Who it is for
Different artists
meet in one space
For actors, musicians, dancers, directors, writers and makers aged 18 or over who train or work in performance—or who are serious about discovering their own creative language.
No instrument is required. Voice, breath, body and space are treated as equal musical resources. Experience and technical level matter less than a willingness to listen, respond and investigate together.
Before you join
What to bring
and expect
- Wear clothes you can move in and bring water.
- The session is planned to take place barefoot.
- Bring an instrument you can play if you have one; participation without an instrument is fully welcome.
- Electronic instruments and keyboards may require a personal amplifier.
- The practice may include walking, running, jumping, floor work and repeated rhythms.
- Tell us about injuries, access needs or sensitivities around sound and improvisation when applying.
- Movements can be adapted through upper-body rhythm or breath, and participants may shift into observation at any time.
- KAMDA records workshops for monitoring and documentation. Any promotional use will be explained and consented to separately during application.
- Participant filming is limited to the final sharing and requires prior consent from everyone appearing in the scene. This requirement is also confirmed and agreed to during the application process.

Conditions for
safe exploration
The first workshop is non-contact by default. If touch becomes relevant, its purpose and location are agreed beforehand. Declining does not affect participation, and consent may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
Participants sensitive to loud or repeated sound may use earplugs and step into a designated observation area.
